Bella Voce is an auditioned 7th and 8th grade girls chamber chorus at Dundee Middle School. The group meets twice a week once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Under the direction of Mona Roy, Bella Voce has continually received recognition and top ratings in the community, festivals, and contests in the last five years. They performed at the Illinois Music Educators Conference in January 2012. The group has consecutively received a Division I rating in Illinois Grade School Music Association choral organizational contests at both the district and state level and earned their first perfect score, a Divison I+ in 2013 . In addition, they have performed at the Vandercook College of Music Choral Festival, the Northern Kane County Home & Business Expo, Barnes and Noble Book Fair, Chicago Wolves hockey pre-game at the All State Arena, and the Chicago Slaughter Football Team home games at Sears Centre, opened for the Anima Young Singers of Greater Chicago at the Cambridge Lakes Charter Choral Series Concert, and with Heartland Voices of Elgin. Girls in this group are heavily involved in outside activities including sports, dance, private lessons, drama, student leadership council, and advanced academic studies. Many of the girls have participated in the D300 Choral Festival and the IMEA District IX Junior Chorus. They annually close out the year by performing the national anthem at Dundee Middle School’s 8th grade recognition night. Our name, Bella Voce, is an Italian phrase meaning "beautiful voice" and we strive to achieve this artistic goal at all times.
